What is your design process?
Our process begins with listening. We start with a complimentary Design Strategy Session to understand your goals, lifestyle, aesthetic preferences, and priorities. From there, we'll recommend the level of design support that best fits your project—whether that's focused guidance through a Design Advisory session, a comprehensive Curated Plan, or Full-Service Design.
For full-service projects, we'll meet in your home to evaluate the space and develop a customized design proposal. Once your proposal is approved, we move into design development, where we thoughtfully consider the layout, cabinetry, materials, finishes, and details that will bring your vision together. Throughout implementation, we collaborate with your builder, contractor, and trade partners to help ensure the design is carried through as intended.
Our goal is to make the process feel as considered as the finished space—giving you clarity at each stage, helping you make confident decisions, and ensuring your investment is thoughtfully directed toward a home that is beautiful, functional, and uniquely yours.
How long does a project take?
Every project has its own timeline, depending on the scope, complexity, size of the space, and level of design support needed. While a smaller design project may take just a few weeks, a comprehensive kitchen or home renovation can take several months from initial design through implementation.
The design phase typically takes several weeks, depending on the number of spaces involved, the level of detail required, and the pace of client decisions and approvals. Once construction begins, the timeline is influenced by your builder or contractor, material lead times, permitting, and the complexity of the work.
We believe good design shouldn't be rushed. Thoughtful planning and well-timed decisions at the beginning can help minimize costly changes and delays later in the process. At the start of your project, we'll establish a realistic timeline and keep you informed as your project progresses.
What type of cabinets do you design with?
We have extensive experience in framed, frameless, and flush inset cabinetry. We are committed to delivering quality craftsmanship tailored to your needs. Whether you prefer the warmth of wood, the versatility of thermofoil, or the sleek look of laminate, we have the perfect solution for your space.
Do you work with clients remotely?
Sanders Home Interiors serves homeowners throughout North Texas, including Allen, McKinney, Frisco, Plano, Fairview, Lucas, and surrounding DFW communities. If you're outside these areas, you're welcome to reach out to discuss your project and determine whether we may be a good fit.
How do I know which design service is right for me?
Whether you need a little direction or comprehensive support, there's a service designed to meet you where you are. The Design Strategy Session is a starting point for gaining clarity; the Curated Plan provides a complete design roadmap; Full-Service Design offers comprehensive guidance from concept through completion; and Design Advisory provides flexible expertise for specific decisions or challenges. Do you work with clients who already have a contractor?
Absolutely. You don't need to have a contractor—or need Sanders Home Interiors to manage your construction—in order to benefit from professional design services. We can work alongside your existing contractor or builder, providing the design direction, documentation, and selections needed to help your project move forward with confidence.
Do you work with builders and contractors?
Yes. Sanders Home Interiors works with builders, contractors, and other trade professionals to provide thoughtful design support, cabinetry expertise, finish selections, space planning, and visual direction. Our goal is to create a clear design vision that supports both the homeowner's goals and the successful execution of the project.
Do you specialize in kitchens?
Kitchens are at the heart of what we do. With more than 20 years of experience in kitchen design and cabinetry, Sanders Home Interiors brings a depth of technical and design expertise to spaces where layout, storage, functionality, and aesthetics all need to work together. While we also offer bathroom and other residential design services, kitchens remain a particular area of expertise.
Can you help me work within my budget?
Yes. We believe thoughtful design includes thoughtful investment. Rather than simply selecting the most expensive option, we help identify where your investment will have the greatest impact and where it makes sense to prioritize, simplify, or save. Depending on the scope of your project, budget considerations are incorporated into the planning and design process so that your decisions are intentional and aligned with your overall goals.
What does the Curated Plan include?
The Curated Plan is a comprehensive design roadmap tailored to your project. Depending on your scope, it may include space planning, cabinetry and layout recommendations, material and finish selections, 3D renderings, budget direction, and a prioritized plan for moving forward. It's designed to give you the clarity and confidence to make informed decisions before significant investments are made.
Can I hire you for just one design question or selection?
Yes. Not every project requires a comprehensive design plan. Design Advisory provides flexible access to professional expertise when you need help with a specific decision or design challenge, such as paint and countertop selections, cabinetry questions, layout refinement, or coordinating finishes. It's a practical way to bring an experienced designer's perspective to the decisions that matter most.
What happens after I book the Design Strategy Session?
Once you schedule your complimentary 30-minute Design Strategy Session, you'll receive everything you need to prepare for our conversation. During the call, we'll discuss your project, goals, priorities, and what you're hoping to accomplish. I'll answer initial questions, share my perspective, and help determine which level of design support makes the most sense. There's no obligation to move forward. We're simply determining whether Sanders Home Interiors is the right fit for your project.
Do you offer interior design beyond kitchens?
Yes. While kitchens are a particular area of expertise, Sanders Home Interiors provides design services for other spaces where thoughtful planning and cohesive design can make a meaningful difference. This may include bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other residential spaces that benefit from a considered approach to layout, materials, finishes, and functionality.
Our focus is on creating a home that feels cohesive rather than designing individual rooms in isolation. With more than 20 years of experience in kitchen design and cabinetry, I understand the technical details behind a successful kitchen—but my role extends far beyond the cabinets. I consider how the space functions as a whole, including layout, proportions, appliances, storage, countertops, backsplash, lighting, hardware, and the relationship between each element.
Because cabinetry is such a significant investment, I believe it should be selected as part of a thoughtful design plan rather than in isolation. My goal is to create a cohesive space where every decision supports the way you live, the aesthetic you want to achieve, and the investment you're making in your home.
